The Plot of Scary Movie 3
The film opens with two women, Katie (McCarthy) and Becca (Anderson), talking about a tape they watched separately. While Katie thinks it was a sex tape, Becca reveals that it was actually a cursed tape that kills whoever watches it in seven days. They receive a phone call from a creepy voice that says "seven days". Katie is then killed by a ghostly girl named Tabitha (Lawson-Baird) who crawls out of the TV. Becca tries to escape but is also killed by Tabitha.
Meanwhile, Cindy Campbell (Faris) is a news reporter who is assigned to cover a story about a mysterious crop circle that appeared on the farm of Tom Logan (Sheen), a former reverend who lost his faith after his wife's death. Cindy meets Tom and his brother George (Rex), who is an aspiring rapper. She also meets Tom's children, Robbie (Drew Mikuska) and Rachel (Marny Eng), who are troubled by strange visions and noises. Cindy finds the same cursed tape in the house and watches it. She receives a phone call from the same voice that says "seven days". She then visits her friend Brenda (Hall), who is a teacher at a local school. Brenda tells Cindy that she also watched the tape and has only one day left to live. They decide to seek help from Aunt Shaneequa (Latifah), a psychic who lives in the ghetto. Aunt Shaneequa tells them that the tape is the work of an evil force that can only be stopped by finding the well where Tabitha was buried by her mother.
Cindy and Brenda go to the old farm where Tabitha lived and find the well. They are attacked by Tabitha's mother, who reveals that she killed Tabitha because she was evil and possessed by aliens. Cindy manages to push her into the well and seal it with a lid. She then receives a call from George, who tells her that he is at a rap battle with his rival Fat Joe (himself). Cindy rushes to the rap battle and joins George on stage. They perform a rap song that impresses the crowd and wins the battle. However, they are interrupted by President Harris (Nielsen), who announces that aliens have invaded Earth and are destroying everything. He also reveals that he has a secret plan to stop them.
Cindy, George, Tom, Robbie, Rachel, Brenda, Mahalik (Anderson), CJ (Hart), and President Harris go to the secret bunker where the president's plan is revealed. He has a device called the Continuum Transfunctioner, which can send a signal to the aliens and make them explode. However, he needs someone to activate it manually at the alien mothership. Cindy volunteers to do it, since she has nothing to lose. She takes the device and boards a spaceship piloted by Orpheus (Griffin) and Architect (Carlin). They fly to the mothership and infiltrate it. Cindy finds the core of the ship and plugs in the device. She then encounters Tabitha, who is revealed to be the leader of the aliens. Tabitha tries to kill Cindy, but Cindy fights back and throws her into a pit of lava. She then activates the device and escapes with Orpheus and Architect.

The Parodies of Scary Movie 3
The Ring
Scary Movie 3 parodies The Ring, a 2002 American remake of a 1998 Japanese horror film about a cursed videotape that kills whoever watches it in seven days. The film follows Rachel Keller, a journalist who investigates the tape's origin and tries to save her son from its curse.
Scary Movie 3 makes fun of The Ring's characters, plot, visual style, and scares in various ways:
The film opens with Katie and Becca watching the tape separately, instead of together as in The Ring. Katie thinks it was a sex tape, while Becca reveals that it was actually a cursed tape.
The tape itself is different from The Ring's tape, which features disturbing images such as maggots, ladders, horses, etc. Scary Movie 3's tape features random clips such as people falling down stairs, animals mating, Oprah Winfrey crying, etc.
The voice that calls after watching the tape says "seven days" in a creepy tone in The Ring. In Scary Movie 3, the voice says "seven days" in different ways such as "seven days...bitch", "seven days...and you'll die", "seven days...and your ass is mine", etc.
Tabitha, the The Matrix
Scary Movie 3 parodies The Matrix, a 1999 science fiction action film that depicts a dystopian future in which humanity is unknowingly trapped inside a simulated reality called the Matrix, created by intelligent machines to harvest human energy. The film follows Neo, a hacker who is contacted by a group of rebels led by Morpheus, who believe that Neo is the prophesied savior who can free humanity from the Matrix.
Scary Movie 3 makes fun of The Matrix's characters, plot, visual style, and action scenes in various ways:
The film introduces the characters of the Oracle (Latifah) and Orpheus (Griffin), who are parodies of the Oracle and Morpheus from The Matrix. The Oracle is a sassy and sarcastic woman who lives in a rundown apartment with her husband and son. She tells Cindy that she is the One, but also insults her appearance and intelligence. Orpheus is a flamboyant and incompetent leader of the rebels, who wears a purple leather coat and sunglasses. He tries to help Cindy escape from the Agents, but ends up crashing his car and getting arrested.
The film recreates the scene where Morpheus offers Neo a choice between a red pill and a blue pill. In Scary Movie 3, Orpheus offers Cindy a choice between a red pill and a blue pill. However, he also offers her other pills of different colors and effects, such as a green pill that makes her horny, a yellow pill that makes her pee, and a purple pill that makes her hallucinate.
The film parodies the bullet time effect, which is a visual effect that shows the action in slow motion while the camera moves around the scene at normal speed. In Scary Movie 3, Cindy uses this effect to dodge bullets fired by the Agents. However, she also uses it to dodge other things, such as spitballs, popcorn, and soda cans.
The film mocks the fight scene between Neo and Agent Smith in the subway station. In Scary Movie 3, Cindy fights Agent Thompson (Piven) in a similar setting. However, instead of using martial arts moves, they us
